23/24 SEASON 16!!!

What a beautiful sunny day! It’s going to be a nice, warm spring weekend too, yay!!

RECITAL:

  • Reminder to check the recital website. It was updated last week with LOTS of important info.
  • CLICK HERE (it’s also at the bottom of each email)
    • Ticket sales info
    • Show orders now posted
    • Updated alteration date (5/1 still but now 5/11, not 5/4)
    • Shout outs for in the program (limited space, sign up quickly!)
    • Tutorials on hair, makeup, the check in process, etc.
  • The classes will be rotating rooms these final few weeks, so everyone gets time in the black studio (which is the size of the stage). They may also perform for each other or another class. So if you pop in and see them in a different room or sitting down watching…that’s why! Show prep time!!
  • Don’t forget to make sure you have those correct dance shoes. You want to have some time to break them in before the big day!

SUMMER: 

  • A few classes are full/closed, but there are still room in some! Just shoot us a quick email with which classes/camps you want, and we will get you all taken care of!
    • Summer is a great time to try a new style OR crush some big goals!
    • SUMMER SCHEDULE 
  • Calling all TWEENS (ages 9-13) We WILL be opening up a tween section of the In My Swiftie Era Camp!!! 
    • If you had already emailed us that you were interested/wanted to do a tween In My Swiftie Era camp…no action is needed. We will get you all taken care of!
    • Looking to join the T. Swift party? We’d love to have you! Wednesday 7/10 3-4:30pm. Just let us know and we will get you added!

FUN STUFF:

  • Congrats to both our Performing Co and Competition Team this weekend. Be sure to check out our social media from Monday, as there was a post with all that they earned. We are so proud of them all and loved their passion and energy on the stage!
    • BIG shoutout to the Comp Team for having the 3rd highest group dance score of the entire weekend!! That’s 3rd out of…. A LOT!! Well done!!
  • Friday I will be teaching some classes at Summit View Elementary for their high interest day. I hope to see some LDC students there!
  • Sunday, we will be performing at the Rose Glen Chicken BBQ. Always a favorite event of ours!!
    • Reminder: Wear your 2024 Maroon recital tee, black shorts/leggings. Hair pulled back in a pony and sneakers (or your dance shoes if you want).
    • Meet in library around 12:45, we perform 1:00-1:40!!
  • Don’t forget to pick up your RECITAL TEE if you ordered one! Stop by the front desk to do so.

Happy Wednesday! Some important info below as we head into the homestretch of the season!!

RECITAL: We are just over SIX weeks away from our BIG weekend! Recital is such a core memory for our dancers and we thank you for all of the support you show them all year and during recital weekend. We know April/May are NUTS months for parents, so please know we are here to help however we can!

  • RECITAL WEBSITE (CLICK HERE): It has been updated with ticket sale info, show day info, “first timer” info and more to come! So please take a few minutes to read through there!
    • If looking on your phone, click on the 3 lines in the upper left corner for all the pages.
    • NEW Dates to know: (can also be found on the home page and attached here)
      • Wed May 1 and Sat May 4: My mom, Miss Jan, will be at LDC to do any alterations that the dancers need. First come, first served. These are free, just please be sure to give Miss Jan a big thank you when she’s done!
      • Tue 5/7 6pm: Graduating seniors can purchase their recital tickets
      • Mon 5/13 9am: Ticket sale open, with code needed (emailed out Sun 5/5) and initial ticket limit enforced.
      • Sat 5/18 9am: Ticket sales reopen with NO code and NO limit!
  • Shoes: Make sure your dancer has the correct dance shoes and is wearing them to class so they can practice in them!

SUMMER: Classes and camps are filling, so be sure to email us your summer registration if you haven’t already!

FUN STUFF:

  • Congrats to our competition team! They competed last week and did amazing! They earned lots of high scores and special awards.
    • They compete again, with our performing company, this weekend at Epic Dance Competition. We wish you all the best of luck!!
  • Rose Glen students…next week your teachers will be having you run your recital dance with the dancers performing at the BBQ.
    • Please note: not every dance that you signed up for will perform as we have a time slot that we can’t go over.
  • Happy early birthday to Miss Annabelle…her birthday is this Sunday!!

I hope everyone is enjoying the spring weather this week! What a change (for the better) from last week 🙂

RECITAL:

  • Shoes!! Just another reminder to make sure your dancer(s) has the dance shoes they need for recital.
    • Can find that info on the recital website, link below!
    • The borrow shoe bins are put away for the rest of the year, otherwise we have shoes “walk away” before recital.
      • Of course if you forget yours that day, you can sign out a pair to borrow for the day. Just stop at the front desk.
  • Choreography: the dancers and teachers are working on putting final touches and edits on their dances.
    • Music is all on the recital website, with the specific edits we use for the dances.
      • Tip: download your dancer’s songs so they can practice and listen at home!
  • YOU & ME dance: The available slots are almost full! Be sure to sign up if you are interested! The form will be turned off once the slots are full.
  • Recital Ticket information coming soon!
    • Looking ahead, there is an initial purchase limit of 4 tickets per family per show you are in.

SUMMER CLASSES & CAMPS:

  • Reminder, registration opened last week. We are excited to see what everyone is taking this summer.
  • Haven’t sent in your summer registration yet?
  • A few classes and camps are either full or VERY close to full already, so be sure to get those registrations in.
  • Reminder: ALL PC and Comp dancers will be placed on a waitlist for that class for now. In May we will move approved dancers to the class and process team class tuition at that time.

FUN STUFF:

  • Rose Glen students: Interested in performing at the CBBQ on Sunday 4/28 at 1:00pm!!
    • Be sure to sign up HERE by April 15!
  • Best of luck to Miss Sydney! Her professional dance company, Nova Linea Contemporary Dance has another show this weekend!
  • Last but definitely not least, BEST OF LUCK to our competition team…they take the stage again this weekend in Milwaukee at Rainbow Dance Competition!
    • We know you will be AMAZING!! Have fun and dance your hearts out!!

Welcome back…we hope you all enjoyed a nice spring break! Less than 2 months until recital…it’s GO time, such an exciting time of the year 🙂

SUMMER REGISTRATION NOW OPEN:

  • It’s going to be a great summer! We are excited to see what everyone is taking this summer.
  • Haven’t sent in your summer registration yet?
    • No problem! Just shoot us an email and we will get you all set!
  • A few classes and camps are close to full already, so be sure to get those registrations in.
  • If you already sent in your class requests, you will receive a class confirmation later today/tomorrow.
    • Reminder: ALL PC and Comp dancers will be placed on a waitlist for that class for now. In May we will move approved dancers to the class and process team class tuition at that time.

RECITAL:

  • We are now in “dance cleaning mode” and the classes will be working on getting their dances stage ready!
  • Important reminder: make sure you have the correct SHOES and are wearing them to class. Check the recital website for details if you are unsure.
    • The borrow shoe bins have been put away for the rest of the season.
    • If you need to borrow for the day, you may check them out with the front desk. But they need to be returned before you leave and will not be available to borrow for recital day.
  • ** YOU & ME DANCE **: It’s time to sign up for the crowd’s favorite dance!
    • Sign up deadline is April 25!
    • Link to the You & Me page is also on our recital website (link below)
    • Limit of 25 pairs per show, so get those sign ups in soon before it’s full and closes!
  • Recital Ticket information coming soon!
    • Looking ahead, there is an initial purchase limit of 4 tickets per family per show you are in.
