What Makes Liberty Dance Center Special?

Liberty Dance Center was founded with the goal of providing quality dance training in an environment that helps everyone that walks through our doors feel, do and be the best they can be! We believe in an age-appropriate approach to music, movement and costuming. LDC has been a member More Than Just Great Dancing® since 2016, an organization of like-minded studios around the world. Liberty Dance Center is also a Youth Protection Association in Dance (YPAD) studio, whose mission is to keep youth happy, healthy, and safe in dance. We are the second studio in Wisconsin to become YPAD certified.

Finally, the studio is committed to community-giving with a focus on children, seniors and veterans. Liberty Dance Center is the second studio in Wisconsin to start a chapter of the national non-profit, Darby’s Dancers. This is a free dance program for children with special needs. We also support many local charities and are always looking for new ways we can continue to give back!

History of Liberty Dance Center

Owner & Waukesha native, Kate Moody, opened Liberty Dance Center on July 28, 2008 with the purpose of sharing her passion for dance and children along with her commitment to giving back to the community. The studio started in a 2,400 square foot leased space with two dance rooms and 40 students and grew to 140+ students by the end of its first season.

The studio quickly gained a reputation for providing quality dance instruction in a supportive and family-focused environment. Since opening in 2008, Liberty Dance Center has expanded twice at its original location and in 2019 built their own 11,000 sq. ft. building at 830 Venture Court in Waukesha.
