23/24 SEASON 16!!!

Happy Wednesday! Recital (and end of school) countdown is ON! It’s a SUPER busy month, but hang in there parents (and kids too!). 

RECITAL TICKETS:

  • Graduating seniors, you are now able to start ordering your recital tickets.
    • Looks like things went smoothly for you last night!!
  • Studio wide sales open MONDAY 5/13 at 9am CST (please note: the email from DRT may say 10am, that’s because the company is on the East coast).
    • There is in INITIAL ticket limit of 4 per show. This simply allows all families a fair chance to get seats to watch their kiddos.
    • SAVE THE EMAIL FROM DRT!! You will need this case sensitive code in order to purchase.
    • Subject line: Priority seating code for upcoming shows
      • ​Use the email sent on Tuesday 5/7 around 11:30am
  • Studio wide sales open again on SATURDAY 5/18 at 9am CST. 
    • There will be NO code and NO limit at that point. So grab all the seats you need and want!!
  • There is NOT a bad seat in the theater. We’ve had shows here for 14 years and I promise they are all great!

  • ​Shout outs, stuffies & candy bouquets! 
    • Thank you to those that already placed your orders. Your dancer will have an extra special recital!

  • Alterations! Miss Jan is back on Saturday 5/11, 9am-noon
    • First come, first served. This is the last scheduled alterations date, so try to make it if you need anything altered!
  • Congrats to our competition team!! They rocked it at their final competition of the season this past weekend.
    • Be sure to check out social media for highlights that were posted on Monday.

Hello MAY! Wow, where did April go? It’s a busy month for everyone…here are some LDC reminders for you. Hang in there parents…it’s almost summer time 🙂

RECITAL:

  • LINK TO RECITAL WEBSITE
  • Recently added: Show orders (on main info chart, 2nd tab), Ticket sale info, Day of info, and more!
  • SHOUT OUTS: Want to make your dancer’s day extra special? Give them a shout-out in the digital program!
  • STUFFIES and CANDY BOUQUETS: Performers LOVE getting these goodies after their performance. Don’t miss out and check this off your list before the big day!
    • Plush teddy bears WITH our 2024 recital tee! ($20, plus tax, buy at the front desk)
    • LDC custom squish mallows ($20, plus tax, buy at the front desk)
    • Candy bouquets! Our competition team puts these together with love and they were SUCH a hit last year…so they are back!
      • More info coming soon on how to order! Pick up at the theater on show day!
  • ALTERATIONS: Today, Wed 5/1, Miss Jan (Miss Kate’s talented mom) will be at LDC for costume alterations if needed.
    • 4-7 pm, first come first served.
    • Free 🙂 Just say thanks to Miss Jan!
  • TICKETS: On Sunday, May 5, you will receive an email from Dance Recital Ticketing (DRT).
    • KEEP THAT EMAIL: It will have your unique code needed to purchase, a link to the ordering site, and your initial limit.
      • This will go to the main email we have on file at LDC.
    • ​Darby’s Dancers families, you will get a separate email next week…stay tuned!

SUMMER: Spring is flying by, but there’s still time to register for summer classes and camps!

FUN STUFF:

  • Best of luck to our competition team as they take the stage for the final time this season up in Green Bay!
    • Special shout out to our 11 graduating seniors on the team…dance your hearts out ladies! So proud!!
      • ​Abby, Sofia, Olivia, Halie, Georgia, Brandi, Katelyn, Hayley, Lici, Grace & Julia!!
  • NO Darby’s Dances classes this Saturday!! (All other dance classes DO still have class).
  • We had a BLAST at both Summit View AND Rose Glen this past weekend. Love getting to dance with and for local schools!

What a beautiful sunny day! It’s going to be a nice, warm spring weekend too, yay!!

RECITAL:

  • Reminder to check the recital website. It was updated last week with LOTS of important info.
  • CLICK HERE (it’s also at the bottom of each email)
    • Ticket sales info
    • Show orders now posted
    • Updated alteration date (5/1 still but now 5/11, not 5/4)
    • Shout outs for in the program (limited space, sign up quickly!)
    • Tutorials on hair, makeup, the check in process, etc.
  • The classes will be rotating rooms these final few weeks, so everyone gets time in the black studio (which is the size of the stage). They may also perform for each other or another class. So if you pop in and see them in a different room or sitting down watching…that’s why! Show prep time!!
  • Don’t forget to make sure you have those correct dance shoes. You want to have some time to break them in before the big day!

SUMMER: 

  • A few classes are full/closed, but there are still room in some! Just shoot us a quick email with which classes/camps you want, and we will get you all taken care of!
    • Summer is a great time to try a new style OR crush some big goals!
    • SUMMER SCHEDULE 
  • Calling all TWEENS (ages 9-13) We WILL be opening up a tween section of the In My Swiftie Era Camp!!! 
    • If you had already emailed us that you were interested/wanted to do a tween In My Swiftie Era camp…no action is needed. We will get you all taken care of!
    • Looking to join the T. Swift party? We’d love to have you! Wednesday 7/10 3-4:30pm. Just let us know and we will get you added!

FUN STUFF:

  • Congrats to both our Performing Co and Competition Team this weekend. Be sure to check out our social media from Monday, as there was a post with all that they earned. We are so proud of them all and loved their passion and energy on the stage!
    • BIG shoutout to the Comp Team for having the 3rd highest group dance score of the entire weekend!! That’s 3rd out of…. A LOT!! Well done!!
  • Friday I will be teaching some classes at Summit View Elementary for their high interest day. I hope to see some LDC students there!
  • Sunday, we will be performing at the Rose Glen Chicken BBQ. Always a favorite event of ours!!
    • Reminder: Wear your 2024 Maroon recital tee, black shorts/leggings. Hair pulled back in a pony and sneakers (or your dance shoes if you want).
    • Meet in library around 12:45, we perform 1:00-1:40!!
  • Don’t forget to pick up your RECITAL TEE if you ordered one! Stop by the front desk to do so.

Happy Wednesday! Some important info below as we head into the homestretch of the season!!

RECITAL: We are just over SIX weeks away from our BIG weekend! Recital is such a core memory for our dancers and we thank you for all of the support you show them all year and during recital weekend. We know April/May are NUTS months for parents, so please know we are here to help however we can!

  • RECITAL WEBSITE (CLICK HERE): It has been updated with ticket sale info, show day info, “first timer” info and more to come! So please take a few minutes to read through there!
    • If looking on your phone, click on the 3 lines in the upper left corner for all the pages.
    • NEW Dates to know: (can also be found on the home page and attached here)
      • Wed May 1 and Sat May 4: My mom, Miss Jan, will be at LDC to do any alterations that the dancers need. First come, first served. These are free, just please be sure to give Miss Jan a big thank you when she’s done!
      • Tue 5/7 6pm: Graduating seniors can purchase their recital tickets
      • Mon 5/13 9am: Ticket sale open, with code needed (emailed out Sun 5/5) and initial ticket limit enforced.
      • Sat 5/18 9am: Ticket sales reopen with NO code and NO limit!
  • Shoes: Make sure your dancer has the correct dance shoes and is wearing them to class so they can practice in them!

SUMMER: Classes and camps are filling, so be sure to email us your summer registration if you haven’t already!

FUN STUFF:

  • Congrats to our competition team! They competed last week and did amazing! They earned lots of high scores and special awards.
    • They compete again, with our performing company, this weekend at Epic Dance Competition. We wish you all the best of luck!!
  • Rose Glen students…next week your teachers will be having you run your recital dance with the dancers performing at the BBQ.
    • Please note: not every dance that you signed up for will perform as we have a time slot that we can’t go over.
  • Happy early birthday to Miss Annabelle…her birthday is this Sunday!!
